Gerard Ryan

Gerard Ryan is a composer, sound artist, and academic based in Barcelona, where he is Professor of Marketing and Consumer Studies at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili.

Performing under the parafictional project name Le Cliché, he is a widely published recording artist whose releases appear primarily on vinyl and cassette across international micro-labels including Polytechnic Youth (London), Detroit (Berlin), and Medical Records (Seattle).

His recent work explores the sonic dimensions of consumer culture through soundwalking, composition, and interactive installation. His practice examines how listening can function as a critical method in consumer culture theory studies.
